Wood Saw Machinist

Job Summary

• We are looking for a skilled and reliable Table Saw Machinist to join our joinery and furniture production team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately cutting timber, plywood, MDF, laminates and other sheet materials using a table saw, while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and workshop safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the table saw safely and efficiently to cut timber and sheet materials to specified dimensions.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, cutting lists and measurements.
• Set up and adjust the table saw, blades, fences and other equipment according to production requirements.
• Accurately measure and cut materials with minimal waste.
• Check finished components for correct dimensions, quality and consistency.
• Identify and report damaged or defective materials.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
• Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance of machinery and cutting equipment.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures and wear the appropriate PPE.
• Work closely with carpenters, joiners and production staff to ensure jobs are completed on schedule.
• Ensure materials and finished components are clearly labelled and stored correctly.
• Minimise material wastage while maintaining the required quality standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating a table saw in a furniture, carpentry or joinery workshop.
• Good knowledge of timber, MDF, plywood and other woodworking materials.
• Ability to accurately read measurements and technical drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of workshop machinery and safe working practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work to production deadlines.
• Good problem-solving skills and a strong work ethic.

Salary
N80,000 - N100,000 monthly.
