Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English Language and Literature lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and academic standards.
• Teach grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, essay writing, oral English, and literature appreciation.
• Develop effective lesson plans using differentiated instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
• Integrate educational technology and innovative teaching methods into classroom instruction.
• Assess student progress regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback to students and parents.
• Maintain accurate online and offline records of attendance, assessments, and academic performance.
• Foster critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a genuine passion for learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching, learning, and the overall student experience.
• Prepare students for excellence in  WAEC ,  NECO , and other external examinations, and competitions.
• Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and professional development activities.
• Uphold and promote the school’s values, discipline policies, and safeguarding standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in English, Education, or a related field (B.Ed., B.A. Ed., or equivalent).
• A Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) is an added advantage for non-education degree holders.
• Teaching qualification (B.Ed., PGDE, PGCE, or equivalent) is required as applicable.
• Minimum of 2–3 years teaching experience at the secondary school level.
• Strong subject knowledge with excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the effective use of educational technology.
• Experience teaching the British Curriculum is an added advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and other external examinations, with strong knowledge of the Nigerian curriculum.
• Mature, professional, diligent, and committed to continuous professional development.
• Strong subject knowledge, excellent classroom management, and communication skills.
