Position: Sales Director – Renewable Energy (Solar) Industry: Renewable Energy Location: VI, Lagos Job Type: Full-Time (On-Site) Job Description (Summary): As the Sales Director, you will oversee the sales strategy, team performance, and business development for solar energy solutions. You will identify new market opportunities, lead contract negotiations, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Sales Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets and market share goals. Lead and manage the sales team, providing mentorship, coaching, and support to achieve individual and team performance. Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly. Team Development: Recruit, train, and retain a high-performing sales team, ensuring continuous professional development. Foster a collaborative and results-oriented sales culture that promotes accountability, integrity, and innovation. Set clear performance objectives and regularly evaluate the team’s performance through reviews and KPIs. Business Development & Key Account Management: Identify and cultivate new business opportunities within residential, commercial, and industrial solar markets. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to expand the company's network and brand presence. Lead negotiations and secure long-term contracts with high-value clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty. Sales Operations & Reporting: Develop accurate sales forecasts and performance reports for the executive team, providing insights and recommendations for improvements. Manage the sales budget, ensuring cost-effective practices and maximizing ROI. Oversee CRM management and ensure data integrity for efficient sales pipeline tracking and analysis. Market Insights & Product Knowledge: Stay current with solar industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to position the company effectively in the market. Provide feedback to the product development team regarding market demands, customer needs, and potential improvements to the product offerings. Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to promote products and services. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred). Minimum of 5 years in sales leadership roles, with a strong focus on the solar or renewable energy industry. Proven track record of consistently achieving sales targets and driving growth in competitive markets. Comprehensive understanding of solar energy solutions, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, energy storage, and related technologies. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Strong ability to develop and execute sales strategies that align with overarching business goals. Proficient in using CRM tools and leveraging data-driven techniques to enhance sales performance.
