Background
- The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) has applied for credit from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Islamic Development Bank (ISDB) to implement the AfDB/IsDB Assisted Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zone (SAPZ) Programme-phase 2 in partnership with the State Government and Private Investors.
- The State Government in partnership with FGN and AfDB is desirous of engaging the services of experienced and competent project personnel from the state public/civil service in the State Ministries or its Agency to fill the vacancy above for the phase-2 of the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ) Programme
- Successful candidates will be accepted on secondment from their respective organizations and such staff will continue to receive salaries from their parent organizations and a monthly performance incentive from the programme.
- At the end of the project cycle, project staff will return to their respective organizations.
Main Responsibilities
- The Social Safeguard Officer will support activities around the impacts assessment, risk mitigation/occupational safety for the project affected persons and host communities; value chain points and unlocking the business/enterprise angle of the SAPZ frontiers for youth and women and the vulnerable groups.
Qualification and Experience
- First Degree in Sociology, Economics and other relevant disciplines.
- Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience including at least 3 years in implementation of projects integrating strengthening of FOs and gender issues.
- Knowledge in participatory approaches, and gender mainstreaming.
- Proven record in the field of project implementation integrating strengthening of Fos and Gender mainstreaming activities/strategy.
- Good writing skills and computer literacy.
Reporting and location:
- The position will be in SPIU. The State Social Safeguard Officer
will report, directly, to the State Project Coordinator.

Each envelope should include a CV, Application Letter, and photocopies of relevant Credentials suited for the position being applied for.
