Transmission Engineer

Job Purpose
- To install, maintain, and support all transmission links and equipment across the network, ensuring consistent uptime, stable connectivity, and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Configuration:
- Carry out installation, alignment, and configuration of Huawei, Cambium, and Ubiquiti radios and antennas.
- Conduct link testing and ensure optimal performance before handover.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on all transmission links.
- Respond promptly to link faults and ensure timely restoration of service.
- Work closely with NOC and other departments during incident escalation.
Network Optimization:
- Monitor signal strength, throughput, and link stability.
- Recommend and implement corrective actions for performance improvement.
Documentation:
- Record all site activities, configurations, and maintenance logs accurately.
- Submit daily or weekly job reports to the Team Manager.
Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to safety standards and site access procedures.
- Ensure all installations are neat, secure, and weather-resistant.
Key Requirements
- Education: OND / B.Sc. / HND in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 1–4 years in transmission or wireless network maintenance.
Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Huawei transmission equipment (RTN, OptiX, etc.).
- Proficiency in Cambium and Ubiquiti radio configuration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with IP addressing, VLANs, and basic routing principles.
- Ability to interpret link plans, path profiles, and network diagrams.
- Soft Skills: Good communication, teamwork, time management, and problem-solving ability.
