Job Summary
- We are hiring three HSE Officers to cover our solar mini-grid construction across Nigeria.
- This is a field role.
- You will spend your time on active sites rather than reviewing paperwork from an office, monitoring contractors through excavation, PV and BESS installation, LV/MV distribution, work at height, and electrical testing and commissioning.
- One officer based in each of Adamawa, Taraba and Benue / Kogi, with flexibility to cover other project sites.
What you will own
- Implementing Saba's HSE policies and project requirements across your assigned sites
- Site inspections, toolbox talks, inductions and PPE compliance
- Holding EPC contractors and subcontractors to our HSE requirements, and following corrective actions through to closure
- Stop Work Authority where an activity presents an immediate and serious risk
- Incident and near-miss reporting, investigation support and emergency preparedness
- Environmental compliance, hazardous materials handling and community safety
- Daily and weekly HSE reporting
What you bring
- HND or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline with 4 - 5 years in HSE, ideally construction, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure or EPC in Nigeria.
- Hands-on experience on active construction sites
- Working knowledge of Nigerian HSE requirements, risk assessments, method statements and permit-to-work systems
- The confidence to enforce HSE requirements with contractors and site personnel
- Willingness to travel extensively and stay near remote sites
- NEBOSH or IOSH certification, First Aid or Fire Safety training, and solar PV or mini-grid experience are each an advantage.
