Job Summary

• We are seeking a compassionate, responsible, and competent Hostel Nurse/Assistant Nurse to join our team.
• The successful candidate will support the Head Nurse in providing quality healthcare to learners while taking responsibility for the health, hygiene, safety, and general welfare of learners residing in the school hostel.

KeyResponsibilities

• Attend promptly to the day-to-day medical needs of hostel learners.
• Monitor learners who are sick or recovering and promptly escalate concerns to the Head Nurse.
• Maintain accurate medical records and hostel health logs.
• Ensure proper personal hygiene and health routines among hostel learners.
• Monitor and promote cleanliness and hygiene within the hostel environment.
• Coordinate with hostel staff, janitors, and kitchen personnel on health and hygiene matters.
• Support school-wide health initiatives, health education, medical screenings, and emergency response activities.
• Liaise appropriately with parents/guardians and approved healthcare providers when required.
• Participate in health briefings, emergency drills, and other relevant school activities.
• Ensure medical concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate should have:

• A Certified Nursing Assistant qualification or equivalent nursing/healthcare training.
• Previous experience in a boarding school, hostel, residential care, or similar environment is an advantage.
• Strong child-care and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and emotional intelligence.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• The ability to remain calm and responsible during medical or emergency situations.
• Strong hygiene awareness and the ability to enforce appropriate hygiene standards.
• Initiative, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
• Professional conduct both online and offline.
• A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their wellbeing.

Important Requirement:

• The successful candidate must be willing to reside in the school-provided hostel quarters and be available to attend to hostel learners as required during the school session.
