STORE SUPERVISOR

Our client is looking for a Store Supervisor to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the store, leading and supervising sales staff, driving sales performance, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring excellent customer service and full compliance with company policies and standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of sales assistants and other store staff.
  • Open and close the store, including cash-up, security checks, and handover procedures.
  • Drive achievement of store sales targets, monitoring individual and team performance daily, weekly, and monthly.
  • Keep stock of items in the store, ensuring products are well organized, labeled, and accounted for at all times.
  • Keep track of items across the store, monitoring stock levels and flagging shortages, discrepancies, or slow-moving items to management.
  • Conduct regular stock counts/audits and reconcile physical stock against inventory records.
  • Coordinate stock replenishment with the warehouse/suppliers and ensure timely receipt and verification of deliveries against purchase orders/invoices.
  • Maintain accurate stock registers/logs, recording items received, issued, transferred, damaged, or written off.
  • Ensure attractive, well-organized, and fully stocked product displays in line with merchandising and branding standards.
  • Oversee accurate processing of point-of-sale (POS) transactions, including cash, card, and mobile money payments.
  • Handle escalated customer queries, complaints, and after-sales issues professionally and promptly.
  • Train, coach, and motivate store staff, and assist with staff scheduling/rostering.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and security protocols, including cash handling and health and safety guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly sales, stock, and performance reports to management.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable store environment at all times, supporting overall brand image.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Diploma in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field is an advantage.
  • At least 2–3 years’ retail sales experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team-lead role.
  • Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer literacy.
  • Candidates must have ZAQA-certified qualifications/results.
