Cashier

Responsibilities

• Receive payments from customers through cash, POS, bank transfers, or other approved payment methods.
• Accurately record and process all sales transactions.
• Issue receipts to customers for completed transactions.
• Count and verify cash received and ensure the cash register is properly balanced.
• Reconcile daily sales and cash collections with transaction records.
• Prepare and submit daily cash and sales reports to the appropriate supervisor.
• Handle customer enquiries and provide courteous and professional service.
• Ensure prices charged to customers are accurate and correspond with approved prices.
• Process refunds or cancellations only with proper authorization.
• Safeguard cash, POS terminals, receipts, and other payment-related materials.
• Report discrepancies, shortages, excess cash, or suspected fraudulent transactions immediately.
• Maintain a clean and organized cashier point.
• Assist with stock checks and other store activities when required.
• Follow all cash-handling, financial, and organizational policies.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements / Skills & Competencies

• Interested candidates should possess an OND with 2 - 4 years work experience. 
• Strong numerical and basic mathematical skills.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good cash-handling and reconciliation skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Familiarity with POS terminals and electronic payment methods.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, especially during busy periods.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Honesty, integrity, and accountability.
• Ability to identify and report financial discrepancies.
• Professional appearance and conduct.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Salary
N50,000 - N80,000 monthly.
