Head of Sales Logistics

Role Summary
- The Head of Sales Logistics is responsible for aligning sales operations with supply chain and logistics execution.
- The goal is to ensure products are delivered to customers efficiently, cost‑effectively, and in line with sales commitments.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Demand Planning:
- Collaborate with sales teams to forecast demand
- Ensure inventory availability aligns with sales targets
Logistics Strategy:
- Develop logistics strategies to support market expansion
- Optimize transportation, warehousing, and distribution networks
Order Fulfillment:
- Oversee order processing, shipping, and delivery timelines
- Ensure high service levels and customer satisfaction
Cross‑Functional Coordination;
- Act as a bridge between sales, supply chain, procurement, and operations
- Resolve bottlenecks affecting deliveries
Cost & Efficiency Management:
- Reduce logistics costs while maintaining service quality
- Monitor KPIs (delivery time, fill rate, cost per shipment, etc.)
Vendor & Partner Management:
- Manage relationships with logistics providers, distributors, and third-party vendors
Typical KPIs
- Order fulfillment rate
- On-time delivery (%)
- Logistics cost as % of sales
- Inventory turnover
- Customer satisfaction scores
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- A master’s degree or MBA is often an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as:
- APICS/CSCP
- CILT
- PMP
- Supply Chain certifications
can be beneficial.
Experience:
- 8–15 years of experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or sales management.
Required Skills:
- Strong supply chain and logistics expertise
- Commercial awareness (understanding sales drivers)
- Leadership and stakeholder management
- Data analysis & forecasting
- Problem-solving and decision-making.
