Job Summary

  • The Baker/Cake Decorator is responsible for preparing, baking, and decorating a variety of cakes and baked products in line with the company’s quality standards.
  • The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver visually appealing and great-tasting products while meeting customer specifications and deadlines.
  • The ideal candidate will combine technical baking skills with artistic decoration abilities to produce high-quality products that enhance customer satisfaction and brand reputation.

Key Responsibilities
Baking Operations:

  • Prepare and bake cakes, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipes and company standards.
  • Measure and mix ingredients accurately to ensure consistency in taste and quality.
  • Monitor baking processes to achieve the desired texture, taste, and appearance.
  • Maintain consistency in product output across all orders.

Cake Decoration:

  • Design and decorate cakes based on customer specifications and company standards.
  • Use various decorating techniques such as icing, fondant, piping, and sculpting.
  • Ensure all finished products are visually appealing and meet quality expectations.
  • Interpret custom cake designs and replicate them accurately.

Order Management:

  • Execute customer orders within specified timelines.
  • Coordinate with the customer service or sales team on order details.
  • Ensure accuracy in order fulfillment (design, size, flavor, and delivery timelines).

Quality Control:

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.
  • Ensure all products meet the company’s quality requirements before dispatch.
  • Minimize waste and manage ingredients efficiently.

Inventory and Supplies:

  • Monitor baking ingredients and decoration materials.
  • Notify management of low stock levels in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper storage of ingredients and finished products.

Workspace Maintenance:

  • Keep the kitchen and work area clean, organized, and compliant with hygiene standards.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of baking equipment and tools.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other bakers and decorators to meet production targets.
  • Support team members during peak production periods.
  • Contribute ideas for new cake designs and product improvements.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 2 years experience.

Salary
N150,000 monthly.
