Sales Representative

Job Summary

• The Supermarket Sales Representative is responsible for providing excellent customer service, promoting and selling products, maintaining attractive product displays, assisting customers with their purchases, and ensuring the sales floor is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
• The role contributes to increased sales, customer satisfaction, and the overall success of the supermarket.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:

• Welcome customers warmly and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Help customers locate products and provide accurate product information.
• Respond to customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally.
• Build positive relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.

Sales & Merchandising:

• Promote products and recommend suitable alternatives or complementary items.
• Arrange merchandise on shelves according to company standards.
• Monitor shelf displays to keep them attractive, clean, and well-organized.
• Assist with promotional campaigns and in-store marketing activities.

Stock Management:

• Replenish shelves and ensure products are always available for customers.
• Monitor stock levels and notify supervisors of low or out-of-stock items.
• Check product expiry dates and remove expired or damaged items from display.
• Participate in periodic stock counts and inventory exercises.

Store Operations:

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of assigned sections.
• Ensure aisles are free from hazards and products are displayed safely.
• Follow all company policies on merchandising, pricing, and customer service.
• Support other departments during busy periods when required.

Cash Handling (Where Applicable):

• Operate the Point-of-Sale (POS) system accurately.
• Process cash, card, and electronic payments.
• Issue receipts and reconcile cash at the end of each shift if assigned as a cashier.
• Report any cash shortages or discrepancies immediately.

Administrative Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate sales and stock records where required.
• Report damaged products, theft, or suspicious activities to management.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Supervisor.

Requirements
Education:

• Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification.
• OND or higher qualification is an added advantage.

Salary
N40,000 / month.
