Mission and Activiates
- Nurse (ITFC & IPD) For RISQ Digital Project embedding Optima: Dedicated and competent nurse working with the Alliance for International Medical Action (ALIMA), delivering quality healthcare services in line with national CMAM, IMAM and primary healthcare protocols.
- Provides integrated management of acute malnutrition and outpatient medical care in humanitarian settings.
Key Responsibilities
RISQ digital Project Embedding OptiMA Clinical Implementation:
Triage of Patients 6-59months:
- Apply Emergency Triage Assessments Treatment
- Should have a good mastering of the 7 vital signs assessments and its normal values in children of 0-59months (Heart rate, Respiratory rate, Respiratory Efforts, Oxygen needs and Saturation, Body temperature, Awareness level) as required in RISQ Standard procedure
- Ensure the Scores of the vitals are properly taken, recorded and correctly interpreted in the RISQ app
- Admit and manage patients using simplified MUAC and Oedema-based criteria
- Monitor patient progress through MUAC measurements, Oedema check, weight tracking, and clinical assessment.
- Identify complications, non-responders, and defaulters, and refer appropriately to Stabilization Centres (SC)
- Provide integrated management of common childhood illnesses alongside malnutrition treatment
Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Compliance:
- Ensure all activities comply with GCP principles of RISQ including patient safety, rights, and confidentiality
- Obtain and document informed consent from caregivers before enrolment into the OptiMA program
- Follow approved study protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Accurately collect, record, and report clinical and research data
- Ensure data integrity, completeness, and traceability in all documentation
- Report adverse events and protocol deviations according to study guidelines
- Participate in monitoring visits, audits, and supervision related to research activities
Patient Care & Counseling:
- Provide caregiver education on proper RUTF use, feeding practices, and hygiene
- Deliver Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) counseling
- Promote disease prevention and health education within the community
Data Management & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate patient records, registers, and case report forms (CRFs)
- Ensure timely and complete reporting in line with program and research requirement
Logistics & Stock Management:
- Monitor RUTF and medical supply stock levels
- Ensure proper storage and rational use of supplies
General Responsibilities
- Adhere to Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) protocols (hand washing, disinfection of thermometers, pulse oximeter, disinfection of cups used by caregivers) and waste management and general Hygiene
- Maintenance of biomedical and non-medical equipment (pulse oximeters and Tablets)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality care
- Participate in community outreach and screening activities
- Identify Gaps in the RIQS approach and implementation and communicate with the management
- Maintain professional ethics and respect patient dignity and confidentiality
Qualifications
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid practicing license
- Experience in nutrition programs (RISQ/OptiMA/CMAM) and research settings preferred
- Previous NGO or humanitarian experience is an advantage
- Willingness to work in remote and resource-limited environments.
- Flexible and can work under pressure.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of RISQ/ OptiMA/CMAM protocols and GCP principles
- Excellent clinical assessment and pediatric care skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection
- Strong communication and caregiver counseling skills
- Ability to work under pressure in humanitarian and research settings.
