About the Role
- We are currently recruiting for an organized and detail-oriented Branch Accountant to join our team.
- In this role, you will be the guardian of financial integrity at the branch level.
- You will be responsible for driving all accounting functions, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, and maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue daily floats to cashiers; ensure the safe handling and timely bank lodgment of all cash.
- Reconcile cash and POS transactions daily, balancing tills and investigating any discrepancies.
- Vet and verify invoices for accuracy prior to posting on the ERP system.
- Respond to and resolve POS disputes from customers efficiently.
- Prepare monthly shortage reports and write off transferred stock between departments.
- Ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to; perform bank reconciliations to keep records accurate.
- Post branch revenue and transactions into the appropriate journals on the ERP system.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum of B.Sc./ HND in Accountancy or related
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar role
- Must have NYSC Discharged, Exemption or Exclusion letter
- ICAN Certification is an added advantage
- Proven experience in accounting or cash management role.
- Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and internal controls.
- Proficiency in using ERP software is highly desirable.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle cash securely and responsibly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills regarding POS and transactional disputes.
