Site Electrician

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Site Electrician to carry out electrical installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair works on construction sites.
• The successful candidate will ensure that all electrical systems and temporary site power installations are executed in accordance with approved drawings, industry standards, and safety regulations while supporting the timely delivery of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, switches, sockets, lighting systems, and other electrical installations on construction sites.
• Install and maintain temporary site electrical power systems and ensure safe power distribution across the project site.
• Read and interpret electrical drawings, layouts, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults and equipment failures promptly to minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical installations and equipment.
• Test electrical systems using appropriate testing and diagnostic tools to ensure functionality and compliance.
• Ensure all electrical installations comply with applicable building codes, electrical standards, and company safety policies.
• Coordinate with Site Engineers, Architects, Contractors, and other construction personnel to ensure smooth project execution.
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and site-related breakdowns.
• Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, repairs, and materials used.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and safe handling of electrical tools, equipment, and materials.
• Report electrical risks, defects, and safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Requirements

• Proven experience carrying out electrical works on construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and construction plans.
• Proficiency in the use of electrical testing, measuring, and diagnostic equipment.
• Good understanding of construction site safety practices and electrical regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights and in various site conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and commitment to quality workmanship.

Qualifications:

• Trade Test Certificate, Technical/Vocational Certificate, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation and Maintenance.
• Relevant professional certification or electrical license is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of practical experience as a Site Electrician or Construction Electrician.

Salary
N300,000 / month.
