Pan Boiler

Job Summary

• The Pan Boiler operates and monitors vacuum pans to produce sugar crystals of the required size and quality from concentrated syrup.
• The role requires precise control of process parameters, preparation and use of seed slurry for crystallization, and regular sampling for laboratory analysis.
• The Pan Boiler ensures equipment is properly maintained, minimizes process deviations, and works closely with centrifugal operators, the laboratory, and supervisors to achieve production targets.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate vacuum pans to boil massecuite under controlled conditions for sugar crystallization.
• Monitor and adjust operating parameters (temperature, vacuum, brix, steam flow) to ensure uniform sugar crystal growth.
• Prepare and apply seed slurry for pan seeding to initiate crystallization.
• Take regular massecuite samples and coordinate with the laboratory for crystal size and quality analysis.
• Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of pans, valves, and accessories for reliable operation.
• Record operating data, process adjustments, and deviations in shift logs for effective handover.
• Maintain good housekeeping and ensure GMP in all pan floor activities.
• Collaborate with centrifugal operators to ensure smooth massecuite discharge and spinning operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce energy consumption, improve yield, and minimize sugar losses.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Pan Floor Supervisor or Coordinator.

Qualifications

• OND with no experience/ SSCE with experience.
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience.
