Highway Technician

Key Responsibilities

• Assist engineers and site teams in setting out, measuring and supervising highway construction activities.
• Monitor earthworks, subgrade, sub-base, base course, asphalt and drainage works.
• Conduct routine site measurements, inspections and material checks.
• Assist with surveying, levelling and preparation of site records and measurements.
• Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, method statements and HSE requirements.
• Monitor contractors and site personnel to ensure work is executed to required standards and programme.
• Record daily site activities, quantities, progress and technical observations.
• Support material sampling and basic field/laboratory testing as required.
• Identify defects, deviations and quality issues and report them promptly to the supervising engineer.
• Assist in preparing progress reports, inspection records and other project documentation.
• Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, laboratory personnel and other site teams as required.
• Perform other technical duties assigned by the supervising engineer or Project Manager.
