Job Summary
- We are seeking a talented and experienced Pastry Chef to join our hospitality team in Abuja immediately.
- The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in pastry production, cake decoration, bread making, and dessert preparation, with a passion for creativity, quality, and presentation.
- This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and decorate cakes using fondant, buttercream, whipped cream, ganache, and themed cake techniques.
- Prepare a variety of puff pastries, including croissants, pain au chocolat, Danish pastries, cinnamon rolls, and related products.
- Produce high-quality desserts such as cheesecakes, parfaits, mousse, tiramisu, brownies, waffles, and pancakes.
- Manage daily production of pastries and baked treats.
- Prepare a range of breads, including soft bread, artisan bread, burger buns, sandwich loaves, and dinner rolls.
- Produce cookies, small chops, and other bakery items.
- Develop new recipes and innovative product offerings.
- Ensure attractive presentation and consistent product quality.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production schedules and customer demands.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef, Baker, or similar role.
- Strong cake decoration skills, including fondant, buttercream, whipped cream, and ganache work.
- Hands-on experience in puff pastry production and bread making.
- Expertise in preparing a wide range of desserts and baked goods.
- Knowledge of chocolate work and dessert plating is an added advantage.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop new recipes and presentations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining hygiene and food safety standards.
- Positive attitude, professionalism, and excellent teamwork skills.
