Job Summary

• The Sales & Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies to increase the company's market share, revenue, customer base, and profitability.
• The role involves identifying new business opportunities, managing customer relationships, leading the sales team, promoting the company's products, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets.
• The manager will work closely with the Production, Finance, Procurement, Logistics, and Management teams to ensure that customer requirements are effectively met and products are delivered efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Management:

• Develop and implement annual and monthly sales strategies and plans.
• Set sales targets and ensure achievement of agreed revenue objectives.
• Identify and develop new customers, distributors, dealers, wholesalers, retailers, and corporate accounts.
• Manage and grow existing customer relationships.
• Monitor sales performance and take corrective action where necessary.
• Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
• Develop effective pricing and sales strategies in line with company objectives.
• Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, and agreements with customers.
• Monitor competitors, market prices, products, and activities.

Marketing Management:

• Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase product awareness and market penetration.
• Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and emerging opportunities.
• Develop promotional campaigns, product launches, trade promotions, exhibitions, and other marketing activities.
• Manage the company's brand positioning and corporate image.
• Coordinate digital marketing, social media, advertising, and other promotional activities where applicable.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and return on investment of marketing campaigns.

Customer Relationship Management:

• Maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
• Understand customer requirements and ensure timely resolution of complaints.
• Gather customer feedback and communicate relevant information to management and production teams.
• Develop strategies for customer retention and repeat business.
• Ensure high standards of customer service throughout the sales process.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, supervise, motivate, and develop the sales and marketing team.
• Establish individual and team performance targets.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and sales meetings.
• Provide coaching and training to improve sales and negotiation skills.
• Ensure sales staff follow company policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
• Work closely with Production and Operations teams to align sales commitments with production capacity.
• Monitor product availability and communicate customer requirements to relevant departments.
• Coordinate with Logistics to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Provide market and customer information to support product development and production planning.
• Ensure that customer orders and specifications are accurately communicated to the relevant departments.
• Identify new markets, territories, industries, and distribution channels.
• Develop strategic partnerships and business relationships.
• Identify opportunities for new products and product improvements.
• Prepare business proposals, presentations, and commercial offers.
• Participate in trade fairs, industry events, exhibitions, and customer meetings.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Marketing, Business Management, Sales, or a related field.
• Professional qualification in Marketing/Sales or an MBA is an added advantage.
• 5 – 8 years' relevant experience preferably in a manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, building materials, consumer goods, or related environment.
• Proven experience managing a sales team and achieving sales targets.
• Strong knowledge of sales management, marketing, business development, and customer relationship management.
• Good knowledge of the relevant industry and competitive market environment.
