1. JOB PURPOSE

The Business Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's business operations, driving business growth, managing client relationships, coordinating administrative activities, monitoring revenue and expenditure, and ensuring the effective delivery of security services. The Business Manager shall work closely with the Managing Director, Security Operations Manager, supervisors, and other relevant personnel to achieve the company's strategic objectives, expand its client base, improve profitability, and maintain high standards of professionalism and customer satisfaction. The position requires a proactive, commercially minded, organised, and results-oriented individual who can identify new business opportunities, retain existing clients, and ensure that the company's resources are used efficiently.

2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Business Development and Growth The Business Manager shall: Develop and implement business development strategies to increase the company's revenue and market share. Identify and pursue new business opportunities across shopping malls, supermarkets, warehouses, manufacturing companies, residential estates, offices, hotels, construction sites, and other commercial establishments. Conduct regular business outreach, client visits, networking, and corporate engagement activities. Prepare business proposals, quotations, presentations, and other commercial documents for prospective clients. Follow up on submitted proposals and maintain an organised record of business leads and opportunities. Monitor market trends and competitors to identify opportunities for business expansion. Develop and maintain a database of prospective clients, existing clients, and business partners. Recommend new services and business strategies that can improve the company's competitiveness and profitability. Work with the Managing Director to establish monthly, quarterly, and annual business development targets. Provide regular reports on new business opportunities, proposals submitted, contracts secured, and revenue generated. B. Client Relationship Management The Business Manager shall: Maintain professional relationships with existing and prospective clients. Ensure that clients receive prompt responses to enquiries, complaints, and requests. Conduct periodic client visits to assess satisfaction and identify opportunities for service improvement. Coordinate the preparation and review of service agreements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and contract documentation. Follow up on contract renewals and identify opportunities to expand existing service engagements. Work with the operations team to address client concerns relating to guard attendance, discipline, performance, and service quality. Ensure that client feedback is documented and communicated to the appropriate management personnel. Protect the company's reputation by promoting professionalism, accountability, and excellent customer service. C. Contract and Revenue Management The Business Manager shall: Maintain an accurate register of all active contracts, contract values, commencement dates, and renewal dates. Monitor monthly billings and ensure that invoices are prepared and submitted to clients promptly. Follow up on outstanding invoices and overdue payments in coordination with the accounts or finance function. Monitor contract profitability by comparing client revenue with the costs of providing security services. Identify underperforming contracts and recommend corrective measures to management. Ensure that agreed service charges, payment terms, and contractual obligations are properly documented. Prepare monthly reports on revenue, outstanding receivables, new contracts, and business performance. Escalate significant payment delays, contractual disputes, and financial risks to the Managing Director.
