MEP Plumbing Engineer

Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MEP Plumbing Engineer to oversee the design, implementation, and quality assurance of plumbing, drainage, and water supply systems across our building and infrastructure projects.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all hydraulic and mechanical systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with relevant engineering codes and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- System Design & Review: Review, interpret, and validate mechanical/plumbing design drawings, schematic diagrams, and technical specifications for building projects.
- Site Supervision & Quality Control: Supervise plumbing installation works on-site, ensuring strict adherence to approved drawings, safety protocols, and quality standard practices.
- Technical Specifications: Prepare and verify Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for plumbing, drainage, sewage, and water treatment systems.
- Subcontractor Management: Coordinate and manage sub-contractors and plumbing technicians, ensuring project milestones and execution deadlines are met.
- Testing & Commissioning: Oversee system testing (leak testing, pressure testing, hydro-testing) and commissioning of all water supply, drainage, and sanitary systems prior to project handover.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with civil engineers, architects, electrical engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of MEP services.
- Inspection & Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections, prepare detailed progress reports, and resolve technical challenges on-site promptly.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of 4–7 years of practical experience in MEP design, site execution, and plumbing engineering works.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, or other relevant engineering design software.
- Strong knowledge of domestic, commercial, and industrial water supply, drainage, sewage treatment, and fire protection systems.
- In-depth understanding of local and international plumbing codes, standards, and safety regulations.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities, strong project management skills, and clear communication abilities.
Salary
N200,000 – N300,000 monthly (commensurate with experience).
