Housekeeper

About the Role

• We are seeking a reliable, organised, and trustworthy Housekeeper to maintain a clean, hygienic, comfortable, and well-organised home environment.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for general household cleaning, laundry, ironing, kitchen hygiene, and the proper care and arrangement of household items.
• The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent personal hygiene, good communication skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to manage household duties independently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain all areas of the house, including bedrooms, living rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and other designated spaces.
• Sweep, mop, dust, vacuum, wash, and sanitise floors, furniture, surfaces, and household facilities.
• Handle laundry duties, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and arranging clothes and household linens.
• Maintain a clean, hygienic, and organised kitchen, including washing dishes and properly arranging kitchen utensils.
• Change bed linens, make beds, and maintain the cleanliness and presentation of bedrooms.
• Organise household items and ensure personal belongings are handled carefully and returned to their designated places.
• Monitor household cleaning materials and supplies and report items requiring replenishment.
• Dispose of household waste appropriately and ensure waste bins remain clean.
• Identify and promptly report maintenance issues, damaged household items, or other concerns requiring attention.
• Assist with other reasonable household duties as assigned.
• Follow all instructions relating to household routines, cleaning standards, and the proper use and storage of cleaning products.
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding the household, its occupants, personal belongings, and private information.

• The successful candidate must demonstrate integrity, trustworthiness, discretion, good communication, attention to detail, personal discipline, punctuality, initiative, respect for privacy, and a strong sense of responsibility.

Requirements

• Minimum of an HND from a recognised institution.
• At least three years of relevant experience in housekeeping, domestic services, or a similar role.
• Good command of spoken English and the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully.
• Practical knowledge of household cleaning, laundry, ironing, hygiene, and household organisation.
• Excellent personal hygiene and a neat, presentable appearance.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent standards without constant supervision.
• Demonstrated honesty, integrity, reliability, punctuality, and discipline.
• Ability to follow instructions, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
• Physically fit and capable of performing routine housekeeping duties.
• Respectful, courteous, and professional conduct.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise discretion in all household matters.
