Senior QA Engineer

About the Role

• We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong experience across manual and automation testing to lead quality assurance efforts across our web and mobile platforms. This role goes beyond test execution, you will own quality strategy, influence product decisions, and ensure reliable, secure, and compliant releases in a fast-paced environment.
• You will work cross-functionally with Product Managers, Engineers, and Compliance stakeholders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle and proactively prevent production issues.
• The Senior QA Engineer will support testing and quality assurance across multiple company products including:
  • Web platforms
  • Mobile applications
  • Internal tools and systems
  • API integrations and backend services

Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy & Ownership:

• Own and drive end-to-end QA strategy across all products including web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and internal platforms.
• Define, maintain, and continuously improve QA standards, testing methodologies, test plans, and release processes aligned with business, product, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the final quality gate before production releases and provide release readiness assessments.
• Ensure quality is embedded early across planning, development, testing, and deployment stages.
• Track defect trends, quality metrics, and continuously improve testing effectiveness.

Manual Testing (Core):

• Perform exploratory, functional, integration, regression, UAT, and end-to-end testing across products.
• Review product requirements, PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and designs to ensure complete and effective test coverage.
• Design and execute test cases, test scenarios, and structured test plans.
• Validate user journeys, UI/UX flows, form validations, edge cases, negative scenarios, and error handling.
• Test compliance-sensitive and business-critical functionality including permissions, audit logs, data privacy, payments, KYC, and related workflows where applicable.
• Identify, reproduce, document, prioritize, and track defects using issue management tools.
• Investigate and reproduce production issues reported by users, support teams, or internal stakeholders.
• Conduct pre-release validation and regression testing to maintain product stability.

Automation Testing (Core):

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and test suites across:
• Web applications
• APIs
• Mobile applications (where applicable)
• Build automated regression, smoke, and functional test coverage to accelerate release cycles.
• Determine automation priorities by focusing on high-value and business-critical workflows.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery and release confidence.
• Monitor, optimize, and maintain automation reliability while minimizing flaky tests.
• Ensure automated tests validate both functional correctness and system error handling.

Product Quality & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Participate actively in product planning sessions, sprint ceremonies, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers to translate business requirements into measurable and testable outcomes.
• Partner with Engineering teams to improve product testability, observability, and defect prevention practices.
• Review implementation quality and provide risk-based feedback when required.
• Ensure clear validations, meaningful error messaging, and user-friendly product behavior.
• Maintain consistent quality standards across multiple internal and customer-facing products.
• Mentor junior QA team members and contribute to improving overall QA maturity.

Performance, Security & Reliability:

• Conduct or support performance, load, and stress testing initiatives.
• Validate application resilience including failover behavior, recovery scenarios, and system reliability.
• Support security testing activities and vulnerability assessments alongside engineering teams.
• Ensure products meet security, privacy, and compliance expectations.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement:

• Provide regular reporting on test coverage, release health, quality risks, and defect metrics.
• Produce actionable quality insights and recommendations for product teams.
• Continuously improve QA processes, tooling, frameworks, and workflows to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Drive initiatives that reduce production defects and improve overall user experience.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance across manual and automation testing.
• Experience testing web applications, APIs, mobile applications, and production-grade systems.
• Experience in edtech, fintech, SaaS, regulated environments, or compliance-driven products is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of test design methodologies and manual testing principles.
• Hands-on experience with testing tools including:
  • Playwright / Cypress / Selenium (Web)
  • Postman / Rest Assured or similar (API)
  • Appium or equivalent (Mobile – preferred)
• Solid understanding of:
  • CI/CD pipelines.
  • Version control systems (Git).
  • SQL and database validation.
  • Ability to read and understand application code (JavaScript, Python, or similar).
• Domain Knowledge (Highly Valued)
• Experience with edtech, fintech, payments, KYC, credit, or compliance-focused platforms.
• Understanding of security, regulatory, and data privacy testing practices.
