Finance Officer

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and result-driven Finance Officer to support the Finance Department in managing the company’s day-to-day financial operations. The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and general finance processes, with strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure. The candidate must be organized, trustworthy, and capable of handling financial information with a high level of confidentiality. The role will involve supporting routine accounting and financial activities while ensuring that financial records are accurate, properly maintained, and readily available for management review and audit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in the recording and posting of financial transactions into the accounting system or ERP on a daily basis.
• Process payment vouchers, expense claims, and petty cash transactions ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
• Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices ensuring accuracy of amounts, coding, and authorization.
• Match supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes before processing for payment.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date accounts receivable register and filing system.
• Assist in performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations for all company bank accounts.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business administration, Applied economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of 0-3 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and reconciliations.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting/financial software.
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail.
• Ability to manage financial records and handle confidential information responsibly.
• Good understanding of statutory and regulatory financial requirements.
• Ability to identify financial discrepancies, risks, and control issues.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Professional accounting certification such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
