Bar Mixologist
Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and creative Bar Mixologist to join our hospitality team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, creating cocktails, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring the bar operates efficiently in a clean, professional, and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve cocktails, mocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and other beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
- Create and introduce new and creative cocktail recipes where appropriate.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage professionally with guests.
- Take beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
- Recommend drinks based on guests’ preferences and food selections.
- Maintain proper knowledge of beverages, ingredients, garnishes, and mixing techniques.
- Ensure the bar is fully stocked and properly organized before, during, and after service.
- Monitor beverage inventory and report shortages or wastage to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bar, equipment, glassware, and work area.
- Operate bar equipment safely and correctly.
- Handle cash, POS transactions, and billing accurately when required.
- Follow established recipes, portion controls, and beverage pricing.
- Ensure compliance with responsible alcohol service practices and company policies.
- Work closely with waitstaff, kitchen staff, and other hospitality team members to ensure smooth service.
- Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist with setting up and closing the bar.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Bar Manager or Hospitality Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mixologist, Bartender, or in a similar bar/hospitality role.
- Good knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and other beverages.
- Strong understanding of cocktail preparation techniques and presentation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
- Good knowledge of bar hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Ability to accurately handle cash and POS transactions.
- Creative, attentive to detail, and well-presented.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant hospitality, bartending, or mixology certification is an added advantage.
- A certificate/diploma in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Management, or a related field is an advantage.
