Technical Design Officer

Job Summary
- We are seeking a talented, innovative, and detail-oriented Technical Design Officer to join our automobile manufacturing team in Abuja.
- The successful candidate will support the design, development, and improvement of automotive products and components, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and manufacturing specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and update engineering drawings, technical specifications, and design documentation.
- Develop 2D and 3D models of vehicle components and assemblies using CAD software.
- Assist in the design, development, and modification of automotive products and systems.
- Conduct engineering calculations, feasibility studies, and design analyses.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and product improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
- Review designs and recommend improvements to enhance performance, reliability, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of design revisions and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with automotive industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Participate in product development meetings and provide technical support where required.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies, engineering trends, and industry best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in technical design, product development, or engineering design within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or similar design applications.
- Good understanding of engineering drawing standards and manufacturing processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Membership of a relevant professional engineering body is an added advantage.
