Copywriter & Creative Strategist

About the role

• We’re looking for someone who can decide what our ads should say, how they should look, and why those ideas are worth testing—then write the copy that brings them to life. You’ll use campaign data, customer research, and relevant trends to develop advertising concepts and create clear briefs for our designers, video editors, AI video creators, and content creators.

What you’ll do

• Research products, customer needs, buying motivations, objections, reviews, competing offers, and sales-team feedback.
• Review campaign data with the marketing team to understand which messages, hooks, formats, and creative executions drive results.
• Study relevant advertising and content trends, identifying ideas that fit our products and Nigerian audience.
• Develop fresh selling angles, hooks, concepts, headlines, and storytelling approaches for image and video ads.
• Create actionable briefs that specify the target audience, customer insight, key message, hook, visual direction, copy or script, required assets, and call to action.
• Give designers clear direction for AI image creatives, including product references, scenes, text overlays, and variations to produce.
• Give editors and creators clear direction on opening scenes, footage, demonstrations, voice-overs, captions, pacing, and supporting visuals.
• Write Facebook and TikTok ad copy, video scripts, landing pages, promotional messages, email campaigns, and WhatsApp follow-ups.
• Build a creative testing plan that identifies what each concept or variation is intended to test.
• Create actionable briefs that specify the target audience, customer insight, key message, hook, visual direction, copy or script, required assets, and call to action.
• Give designers clear direction for AI image creatives, including product references, scenes, text overlays, and variations to produce.
• Give editors and creators clear direction on opening scenes, footage, demonstrations, voice-overs, captions, pacing, and supporting visuals.

• Maintain an organised record of concepts, briefs, creative versions, and testing learnings.
• Check product details, prices, offers, and supporting evidence for claims before submitting copy and briefs.

What you’ll bring

• A portfolio showing persuasive copy, advertising concepts, scripts, and creative briefs.
• Strong direct-response copywriting skills and an understanding of Nigerian buying behaviour.
• Ability to interpret campaign results and turn findings into practical creative decisions.
• Strong research skills and the judgement to distinguish useful trends from ideas that do not fit the product or audience.
• Ability to brief designers, editors, and content creators clearly enough for them to execute with minimal guesswork.
• An understanding of image ads, short-form video, AI-assisted creative production, and landing-page messaging.
• Ability to write clear, conversational copy and develop distinct angles without repetition.
• Strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage several creative briefs at once.
