Merchandise Planning Analyst

About the Role
- We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandise Planning Analyst to join our Commercial team.
- The ideal candidate will have strong excel and date analytics skills, with the ability to work with large datasets, identify trends, analyse inventory and sales performance, and provide accurate reports that support business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, validate, and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly merchandise reports.
- Analyse sell-through performance across products, channels, and stores.
- Monitor inventory levels, identifying stock gaps, excess stock, and potential risks.
- Support sales and marketing campaigns through product availability and performance tracking.
- Coordinate merchandise allocations and inter-store stock transfers based on demand and store performance.
- Maintain accurate and consistent sales, inventory, and planning data.
- Monitor store capacity and inventory levels to support optimal stock positioning.
- Update dashboards, reports, and planning templates with timely and accurate data.
- Provide data and administrative support to the Buying & Merchandise Planning team.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
- Maintain well-organised records and contribute to improvements in reporting processes and data quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ experience in data analysis, retail, merchandising, planning, or a related role is preferred.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft excel and date analytics.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
- Good understanding of inventory, sales, and retail performance metrics.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with repetitive, detailed, and time-sensitive tasks.
- Proactive, adaptable, collaborative, and solution-oriented.
- Strong interest in retail, merchandising, data, and commercial performance.
