Job Description
- We are currently recruiting a highly experienced and qualified Quantity Surveyor to join our team. If you meet the requirements below, we want to hear from you
Principal Responsibilities
- Provide data input support for all ongoing projects
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates from drawings and specifications
- Assist in preparing tender documentation and bid submissions
- Monitor project costs and maintain cost control throughout project execution
- Prepare interim valuations, payment certificates, and financial reports
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and manage subcontractor accounts
- Track and manage variations and claims
- Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contract requirements
- Prepare periodic commercial and cost performance reports
- Conduct regular cost reviews of all schedules of rates
- Undertake periodic market surveys of construction materials and report pricing trends to estimators and the Head of Quantity Surveying.
Requirements
Education:
- HND or BSc in Quantity Surveying
- Must be a fully qualified Quantity Surveyor
- NIQS membership is an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in Quantity Surveying or Construction Cost Management
- Strong cost estimation and cost control skills
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
- Good awareness of standard construction contracts (e.g. JCT, FIDIC)
- Computer literate proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Familiarity with project planning tools such as Microsoft project is an added advantage.
- NIQS registered is an added advantage
- Strong cost estimation and cost control skills.
