Job Summary
- We are currently looking to engage a highly competent and result-oriented Technician with strong personal & professional integrity to join our dynamic team in the ArchitectureDepartment
Responsibilities
- The Architecture Technician provides technical and drafting support to the architecture team, assisting with the preparation of drawings, models, and documentation across all stages of a project — from concept design through to construction.
He/she is expected to;
- Prepare and update architectural drawings, plans, sections, and elevations using CAD/BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ArchiCAD).
- Produce and maintain physical or digital scale models to support design presentations.
- Assist architects in developing design concepts into detailed technical drawings.
- Ensure drawings comply with relevant building codes, planning regulations, and internal design standards.
- Coordinate with structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to integrate technical requirements into drawings.
- Conduct site visits and measurements to verify existing conditions and monitor construction progress against design documents
- Maintain organized project files, drawing registers, and version control for all documentation
- Support the preparation of specifications, schedules, and material take-offs
- Assist with the production of presentation materials for client and stakeholder meetings.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers to clarify technical details as required
- Keep up to date with changes in building regulations, materials, and drafting software/technology
Educational and Professional Qualification(s) required for this position
- National Diploma (ND) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Architectural Technology, Building Technology, or a related field (a degree is an added advantage)
- Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a similar technical/drafting role within an architecture or construction firm.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, or similar BIM/3D software is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of local building codes and planning regulations.
- Basic understanding of construction methods and materials.
