Operations Executive - Customs Clearing

Job Summary
- We are seeking an experienced Operations Executive – Customs Clearing to coordinate import and export customs clearance, ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate the timely and cost-effective release of cargo.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and process import/export customs clearance documentation.
- Liaise with licensed customs agents, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), shipping lines, port terminals, and relevant regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate customs declarations, duty assessments, cargo examinations, and release procedures.
- Verify shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, permits, and other clearance requirements.
- Track shipments, resolve clearance delays, and address documentation discrepancies.
- Monitor customs duties, port charges, demurrage, detention, and other clearance costs.
- Coordinate cargo collection, release, and handover to haulage teams.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular shipment status updates.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, port procedures, and company policies.
Requirements
- BSc/HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in customs clearing, shipping, or freight forwarding.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, import/export documentation, and port operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong documentation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple shipments, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively with stakeholders.
- Relevant customs or logistics certification is an added advantage.
Salary
N500,000 - N700,000 per month.
