WASH Volunteer

Job title : WASH Volunteer

Duration - Six (6) months with possibility of extension

Reports to: WASH Officer 

Key responsibilities

• Conduct hygiene promotion and community awareness sessions.
• Support monitoring of water points, latrines and hygiene facilities.
• Assist with the distribution of hygiene kits and other WASH items.
• Help mobilize communities and WASH committees for project activities.

Qualifications

• OND/HND/B.Sc. in Public Health, Environmental Health, Water Resources or a related field.

General Requirements 

• Must be a resident of Borno State .
• Fluency in English; ability to speak Hausa and/or Kanuri is required for WASH, Protection and Nutrition roles.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and email).
• Willingness to work in communities and IDP camps when required.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work in a team.
• Understanding of humanitarian principles is an advantage.
• Fresh graduates and NYSC members are encouraged to apply. Previous volunteer or field experience is an added advantage.

These are unpaid volunteer positions. A stipend may be considered when funded projects become available.
