- Review and accurately dispense prescriptions issued by authorized medical practitioners.
- Ensure the correct medicine, dosage, strength, quantity, and instructions are provided.
- Counsel patients on the proper use, dosage, possible side effects, and storage of medications.
- Identify and resolve prescription errors or potential drug interactions before dispensing.
- Provide professional pharmaceutical advice to patients and healthcare providers.
- Participate in medication reviews and provide recommendations where necessary.
- Monitor pharmacy stock levels and ensure the availability of essential medicines.
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and professional standards.
- Maintain proper records of controlled and restricted medicines.
- Ensure accurate documentation of prescriptions, dispensing, stock movement, and pharmaceutical interventions.
- Support inspections and regulatory requirements of relevant pharmacy authorities.
- Work closely with doctors, nurses, laboratory personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to medication-related decisions where required.
- Maintain proper records of controlled drugs and other regulated medicines.
- Ensure patient confidentiality is maintained at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered and licensed to practice as a pharmacist in Nigeria.
- Current practicing license/certificate as applicable.
- Previous hospital or clinical pharmacy experience is an advantage.
