Gardener

Job title : Gardener

• Gardeners will be responsible for the cultivation, care and maintenance of lawns, flowers, trees, shrubs and other landscaped areas within the school environment. Daily responsibilities will include watering, weeding, pruning, planting, mowing lawns, applying appropriate treatments and maintaining the general beauty and cleanliness of the school grounds.
• Gardeners will also ensure that gardening tools and equipment are properly used, cleaned and stored, while observing all relevant health, safety and environmental practices.

Qualifications

• Practical knowledge or experience in gardening, farming, poultry production or a related agricultural field.
• Ability to carry out physically demanding outdoor work.
• Knowledge of basic plant care, crop cultivation, animal or poultry care, depending on the specific role.
• Ability to use and maintain basic gardening, farming or poultry equipment safely.
• Knowledge of hygiene, health and safety procedures.
• Good observation, organisational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
• Previous experience in a similar role will be an advantage.
• Relevant agricultural, horticultural or vocational training will be an added advantage.
