Senior Backend Engineer

Role Overview
- We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale our core services and APIs.
- In this role, you will take full ownership of our backend architecture, optimize database performance, and ensure our systems remain secure, fault - tolerant, and highly available.
Responsibilities
- Architecture & Scaling: Design robust, clean, and maintainable backend systems and microservices.
- API Development: Build and integrate secure, high - performance RESTful APIs.
- Database Optimization: Optimize queries, schema design, and caching strategies to handle high - traffic loads.
- Infrastructure & DevOps: Collaborate on CI / CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and server performance monitoring.
- Mentorship: Code review peer PRs and mentor mid - level engineers on best practices.
- And any other added responsibilities
Requirements
- Qualification; Bachelor's Degree in relevant field.
- Experience: 4+ years of production - level backend development experience.
- Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in Laravel framework and relational / non - relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis).
- System Design: Proven track record of scaling systems, managing queues, and designing microservices.
- Tools: Experience with Docker, cloud providers (AWS, DigitalOcean, or GCP), and CI / CD pipelines.
- Mindset: Problem solver who prioritizes clean code, security best practices, and performance optimization.
Salary
N300,000 - N330,000 / month.
