- We're seeking an experienced Chief Engineer with a strong classroom teaching background to lead our engineering department and deliver high-quality training to students.
- The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of marine engineering principles and be able to effectively convey complex concepts to students.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the engineering department
- Develop and deliver classroom training and assessments for maritime students
- Create and update course materials to meet STCW and regulatory requirements
- Oversee practical training and ensure compliance with industry standards
- Provide guidance and mentorship to students and junior staff
- Collaborate with other instructors to ensure consistency and quality of training
Requirements
- Chief Engineer certification (Class 1 or 2)
- Minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience in a maritime training program
- Strong knowledge of marine engineering principles and STCW regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing needs
Desirable:
- Experience with online learning platforms and digital tools
- Familiarity with Nigerian maritime regulations and industry practices
