A bank teller is responsible for handling routine financial transactions and providing excellent customer service at a bank. Key Responsibilities of a Bank Teller: Cash Handling: Receive and pay out cash, checks, and other financial instruments. Count and verify cash at the beginning and end of each shift. Customer Transactions: Process deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and loan payments. Cash checks and issue money orders or cashier’s checks. Customer Service: Greet customers and assist with questions about their accounts. Provide information about bank products and services. Direct customers to the right department or personnel if needed. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate transaction records and balance cash drawers. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including fraud prevention. Verifying Identification: Confirm the identity of customers for certain transactions. Follow security procedures to protect customer accounts and bank assets. Problem Resolution: Handle basic customer concerns or escalate issues to supervisors when necessary.
