Kitchen Assistant

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare food and cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats. Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans and places in assigned storage areas in an organized and orderly manner. Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in some cases), spike rooms, and equipment all floors. May occasionally prepare food or cook vegetables, entrees, coffee, sauces, meats. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, extract, wax, buff, vacuums, all types of floors. Maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of personal work area, entire kitchen, serving line, dining room, lunch room and dish pit area. Washes pots, dishes, glasses, cups and all other kitchen equipment after each meal and as needed. Assists with putting away groceries using the First In, First Out method (FIFO). Sweeps and mops kitchen/dining room floor after each meal. Maintains cleanliness and organization of kitchen and dining area. Assist to prepare and cook meals according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards. Ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner to meet service demand. Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, and presentation. Monitor food portions and minimize waste.
