Role description and responsibilities
At WE ARE META, we focus on finding the perfect match between our consultants (Rhinos) and our clients. As a Database Engineer placed through We Are META, you will have access to a network of national and international partners across diverse sectors of the tech industry. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Database Engineering or a similar role
- High mid-to-senior level expertise in PostgreSQL and/or MS SQL Server (hands-on experience with both is highly valued)
- Experience using LLMs and AI programming assistants (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor) to augment daily development
- Conceptual or hands-on familiarity with distributed database environments, partitioning, replication, and performance tuning
- Fluency in English (at least B2 level)
- Availability for remote work based in Portugal (candidates should be based in Portugal with Portuguese or EU citizenship, or a valid work permit)

- Hands-on experience with both PostgreSQL and MS SQL Server
