- Join our team as a Quality Control Assistant to inspect commodities, uphold quality standards, maintain accurate records, and help ensure safe and compliant operations.
General Work Description
- The Quality Control Assistant helps ensure that sesame, soyabeans, and other traded commodities meet ECOM's quality standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- The role assists with commodity sampling, inspection, testing, grading, stock quality monitoring, documentation, and reporting activities across warehouses and operational locations to maintain product quality throughout the supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in sampling, inspecting, grading, and testing incoming and outgoing commodities.
- Conduct routine quality checks on moisture levels, foreign matter, purity, and other quality parameters.
- Support warehouse inspections to identify quality risks such as moisture damage, contamination, pest infestation, or poor storage conditions.
- Assist in monitoring stock quality and reporting non-conforming products for corrective action.
- Maintain accurate inspection records, test reports, and quality documentation.
- Support loading and pre-shipment inspections to ensure commodities meet customer specifications.
- Assist with internal and external quality audits and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and logistics teams to uphold quality standards throughout commodity handling and storage processes.
- Perform any other quality-related duties assigned by line managers.
Requirements
- Minimum of ND in Agriculture, Food Science, Crop Science, Agronomy, Biological Sciences, or a related field.
- Must have 1-2 years' experience in quality control, commodity inspection, agriculture operations, or warehouse quality management.
- Basic knowledge of commodity grading, sampling, and quality assurance practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
