Hardware Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, mobile devices and other IT equipment.
• Repair and replace faulty hardware components, including screens, keyboards, batteries, RAM, hard drives, charging ports and other components.
• Perform motherboard-level diagnostics and repairs where required.
• Install, configure and troubleshoot operating systems, including Windows, macOS, iOS and Android.
• Troubleshoot software issues, remove malware and support data backup and recovery activities.
• Support the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of biometric devices and related hardware.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, replaced components, spare parts and completed maintenance activities.

Requirements

• HND or B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering, desktop support, IT support, hardware repair or a related technical role.
• Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining laptops, desktops and other computer hardware.
• Experience with biometric devices and other IT peripherals is desirable.
• Good understanding of computer hardware architecture, operating systems and basic networking.
• Ability to diagnose hardware faults and identify defective components.
