Job Summary
- As the Email Forensics Specialist, you will investigate email-related security incidents, analyze digital evidence, identify cyber threats, and support incident response activities.
- You will be responsible for examining email communications, tracing suspicious activities, and ensuring the integrity of digital evidence to strengthen organizational cybersecurity.
Responsibilities
- Conduct forensic investigations of email communications, including phishing attacks, email spoofing, business email compromise (BEC), and other email-related security incidents
- Analyze email headers, metadata, attachments, server logs, and message routing to trace suspicious activities and identify potential security breaches
- Collect, preserve, and document digital evidence while maintaining proper chain-of-custody procedures and forensic investigation standards
- Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT infrastructure teams to investigate incidents, identify vulnerabilities, and implement preventive security measures
- Prepare detailed forensic reports, document investigation findings, and provide technical recommendations to support incident response and security improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Digital Forensics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Incident Response, or Email Security Investigations
- Strong knowledge of email protocols (SMTP, IMAP, POP3), email header analysis, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Google Workspace security
- Proficiency in digital forensic and email investigation tools such as FTK, EnCase, Autopsy, Wireshark, or Microsoft Purview
- Relevant certifications such as CHFI, GCFA, GCFE, CEH, or equivalent are an added advantage, alongside strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills.
