Major Projects Manager

Overall Purpose of Job
- Management of all company projects; supervising the packaging and submission of all company bidpackages, the collation of all project data, the planning and analysis of all projects, monitoring, evaluation,and execution of all projects, and also the management of all project office staff.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the preparation of bids/proposals.
- Reviews ALL tender documents and supervises the compilation of materials required for bids.
- Oversees all NIPEX registrations.
- Ensures smooth liaison with NIPEX.
- Oversees the compilation of all technical bids.
- Consolidates and compiles commercial bids.
- Gather intelligence about ongoing and upcoming bids and tenders
- Oversees the electronic control of documents.
- Ensures a copy of each bid quotation is submitted on time and placed on file.
- Development of work plans and proposals for the project improvement process.
- Enforces project deadlines and schedules.
- Managing project cost.
- Consistently applies project standards.
- Ensures multiple tasks are prioritized effectively.
- Oversees the implementation of the full components of fiscally running a project successfully.
- Ensures the documentation and analysis of required information data.
- Ensures that project outcomes are achieved.
- Maintains project equipment and assets list.
- Ensures up-to-date certification of assets at all times.
- Oversees the issuance of equipment to projects.
- Oversees the issuance of personnel to projects.
- Oversees the collation of project documents e.g progress and highlight reports, incident reports, etc.
- Responsible for all Major Projects staff and their development.
- Ensures smooth liaisons with the Finance Unit, the Supply Chain Unit, the Business Development and the Major Projects unit.
Specification
- A good university Degree
- Minimum of 8 years working experience.
Technical / Functional Skills:
- Sound knowledge of MS Project/ Primavera/other relevant project management tools
- Certification in project management is an added advantage
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer Skills especially Excel, word, PowerPoint, and email applications
- Ability to prioritize with excellent time management skills
- Good attention to detail.
