Secondary School Food and Nutrition Teacher

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Food and Nutrition lessons in line with the approved curriculum.
- Teach students the principles of nutrition, meal planning, food preparation, food safety, and healthy living.
- Organize and supervise practical food preparation sessions while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
- Develop lesson plans that combine theoretical knowledge with practical application.
- Assess students' academic and practical performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and internal examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and achievement.
- Foster students’ understanding of healthy eating habits and the relationship between nutrition and overall well-being.
- Create an engaging learning environment that encourages creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.
Requirements
- Degree in Home Economics, Food and Nutrition, Education, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching certification may be required.
- Experience teaching Food and Nutrition at the secondary school level is preferred.
- Strong practical food preparation and nutrition knowledge.
- Good classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively manage practical laboratory and kitchen activities.
- Familiarity with both the Nigerian and Cambridge curricula is an added advantage.
- TRCN certification is an added advantage.
