Job title : Tax Accountant

Position Summary:

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Tax Accountant to manage tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities.
• The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate tax filings, maintaining compliance with relevant tax regulations and supporting the organization's financial objectives through effective tax management.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual tax returns in compliance with applicable tax laws and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure timely remittance of PAYE, VAT, WHT, pension, NSITF, NHF, IT F, and Other Statutory deductions.
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation for audit and regulatory purposes.
• Reconcile tax accounts and ensure proper treatment of tax transactions in the accounting system.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and advise management on compliance requirements and tax implications.
• Liaise with tax authorities, external auditors, and regulatory agencies on tax-related matters.
• Support the preparation Of annual financial statements and audit schedules relating to taxation.
• Assist in tax planning initiatives aimed at improving tax efficiency while ensuring compliance.

Qualification and Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
• Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CIT N, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 4—7 years relevant experience in taxation, accounting, or financial reporting.
• Experience in the telecommunications, power, engineering, or related industry is an added advantage.
• Good understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory compliance requirements.
